平圩社区是平台镇的镇中心区，镇政府所在地即在社区之内。[1][2]社区名称来自旧圩市：当地地势中间高、四周低，形似平台，故称“平台”；1928年有了圩市，称为平台圩；设居委会时取「平台圩」前后各一字，改称平圩。[1][2]
历史沿革[edit]
社区1952年组建居委会，2001年改称社区居委会。[2]1987年起归平台镇人民政府管辖。[1]1997年，办公点从原来的平台圩迁到平台开发区大桥路一侧。[1]
人口民族[edit]
社区居民的姓氏较多，有温、陈、乐、莫、梁等。[2]1990年以后，周边居民也陆续搬入。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，平圩社区列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[2]
