都城镇位于广东省云浮市郁南县东北部，在西江中游南岸，是郁南县县城所在地，也是全县政治、经济和文化的中心。全镇面积92.6平方千米，第七次全国人口普查时人口为8.61万人。[1][2]
镇名原为古县名，由旧县都罗、武城各取一字而成；据《中国地名辞源》，镇名因晋代都城县而来。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
都城一带在晋初已有建置，太康元年（280年）为都罗县的治所。南北朝宋元嘉年间（约424年）撤都罗、开城两县，改设都城县，县治在今都城镇。[3]
宋开宝五年（972年）此地并入端溪县；明洪武九年（1376年）复设都城乡。明万历五年（1577年）改属新设的西宁县，成化六年（1470年）已设都城巡检司署，清雍正年间巡检司署撤去。[3]
1935年都城属郁南县第十三区；1941年镇制恢复，与区同级。1950年4月，郁南县人民政府迁驻都城镇，此后这里成为全县政治、经济、信息和文化活动的中心。1961年设都城镇和附城人民公社，1968年设都城镇革命委员会，1980年11月改设都城镇人民政府；1989年附城乡撤销建制，并入都城镇。[3]
地理环境[edit]
镇域东临西江，地势西北高、东南低，水运便利；321国道隔江相望，省道和县道穿境相连。都城地处粤桂两省的水路交通要冲，旧时有「小广州」之称。[2][4]
经济[edit]
郁南县有「中国无核黄皮之乡」之称，都城镇设有无核黄皮产业园和食品轻工业园，郁南无核黄皮省级现代农业产业园也设在镇内，以都城镇无核黄皮加工物流园为核心，发展黄皮深加工。据镇政府所载，县内最大的无核黄皮深加工产品产地在都城。[6][8]
镇内农业以无核黄皮、金煌芒、蔬菜和水稻为主，并发展特色农业品牌和休闲农业。[6]
文化[edit]
1997年至1998年，都城镇连续两年获云浮市授予「文明镇」称号。2000年，都城镇获「广东省体育先进镇」和「广东省曲艺艺术之乡」称号。2023年4月，都城镇列入「2022年广东省乡村治理示范镇」创建单位名单。[1][2][7]
名胜古迹[edit]
大王山国家森林公园位于都城镇东北面，由大王山山体构成，2004年12月经批准设立，名为「广东大王山国家森林公园」。[4][5]
中山路是镇中心的商业街，以骑楼为特色。据镇团委2023年的报道，街区内的德兴昌车衣店和大钟楼被称为革命遗址。[9]
