里江村是里洞镇下辖的行政村，地处群山环抱之中，里洞圩从辖区中部流过。[1]
地名由来[edit]
村名来自境内的河流。河道较长，按公里计算，当地称河为“江”，故名里江。[1]
人口与姓氏[edit]
明正统年间（约1443年），梁氏始祖迁居定居，是本镇最早的村落之一；此后各姓始祖陆续落户。现村委会内有梁、谢、谭、刘、黎、莫、冯、祝、区、廖、李、苏等12姓，以梁姓为最大，约占村委会人口的30%。[2]
行政沿革[edit]
1949年10月后，里江归新兴县第四区里洞乡管辖。1955年此地属公平区，名为里江乡。1958年先归里洞乡人民委员会，同年11月编入里洞公社，成为里江大队。1983年恢复里江乡建制，隶属里洞区公所；1987年4月改设里江管理区，归里洞乡；1993年1月随镇设管理区；1999年4月起称里江村民委员会。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，里江村被列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。广东省农业农村厅在2020年8月发布了首批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单，里江村以番石榴名列其中。[1]
