悦塘村位于太平镇东部，别名东山，村名取自村旁的一座池塘。[2] 据称屋背山形如巨舰，村民便挖塘蓄水，以“浮”起巨舰之势，又取「和颜悦色」之意定名。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年后，此地先称五冈乡，归第三区管辖；1955年起改称东山乡，归上沙区公所。[1] 1958年隶属社圩乡，同年又归共成公社，设悦塘生产大队。[1] 1961年9月悦塘一度分出悦塘公社，此后改属上沙公社，称悦塘大队。[1] 1983年设悦塘乡；1986年11月设太平镇悦塘管理区；1999年改称悦塘村民委员会。[1]

文化[edit]

村中的清华巷、登科桥，以及利用旧公社房屋设立的悦塘村史馆，都是村内的景观。伍茂根宅属新兴县历史建筑。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2019年12月，悦塘村入选「第二批国家森林乡村」名单。[2] 2022年12月，悦塘村被命名为第四批云浮市「民主法治示范村（社区）」。[1] 2024年1月，悦塘村被确定为「2023年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」。[1] 2024年4月，悦塘村入选「广东省第一批乡村振兴示范村」创建名单。[1] 2025年，悦塘村被命名为「第七届全国文明村镇」。[1][2]
