古院社区是东成镇下辖的社区，位于镇中心区。“古院”的命名与本地话有关：当地话中“九”与“古”同音，地名由古县、九院各取一字而来。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1958年至1961年，古院一带属稔村公社，称古院大队；1961年9月起改属东成公社，其间于1963年至1964年划归稔村公社，1964年5月复属东成公社。1983年设古院乡，1989年东成设镇后改称古院管理区，1999年定名为古院社区居民委员会，沿用至今。[1]
