历史沿革[edit]
村边山岗茅花盛开时远望如白布铺在山头，村因此得名布茅。[3]
清顺治元年（1644年），陈氏先祖迁此定居，此后其他姓氏陆续迁入。现村中以陈姓为多，约占50％。[1][2]
1958年11月称布茅大队，1983年改设布茅乡，1986年11月改为布茅管理区，1993年起属水台镇，1999年改为布茅村民委员会。[2]
2026年1月，布茅村获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
经济[edit]
村中农业以养殖家禽和种植为主。[3]
2021年9月，布茅村列入第二批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单，专业为畜禽养殖。[1]
2023年4月，布茅村列入「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位名单。[1]
2024年3月，布茅村被命名为「2023年广东省卫生村」。[1]
