布龙村是新城镇下辖的行政村。古先民在此建村，初名布隆村；清乾隆年间为避“隆”字讳，改作布龙。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
据传东汉末年已有先民在此生活，萧、陈两姓世代居此，明朝中期以前村落已成形。[2] 2019年9月，村列入2018年度「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。2024年3月，村被命名为2023年「广东省卫生村」。[1]
经济[edit]
新城镇2026年政府工作报告将「布龙鱼苗」列为培育壮大的特色农产品品牌之一。[3]
