明朝末年，庞姓人最早在此建村。[1] 2019年9月，村列入2018年度「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。2020年8月，省农业农村厅确定首批「广东省一村一品、一镇一业专业村」，庞村以丝苗米入选。[1]
