雨洞村为新城镇下辖的行政村，属镇乡结合区，设有12个自然村。据老人口述，村地形群山环抱、田洞开阔，形似渔翁撒网，古叫网鱼洞；因雨季时村外乌云密布、村内却滴水不沾，改称网雨洞，1949年后定名雨洞村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1949年10月隶属新兴县第一区枫良乡；1955年改归南平区雨洞乡；1959年划归洞口人民公社，设雨洞大队；1962年7月转归簕竹人民公社。1994年6月与环城镇合并，归新城镇，设雨洞管理区；1998年12月改为雨洞村民委员会。2019年9月，村入选2018年度「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1][2]
