桥亭社区位于镇乡结合区。新兴江一条支流流经村西，村民耕作须过桥，桥东有一座避雨亭，故名桥亭村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据传梁氏先祖九五公于元延佑二年（1315年）迁入。现有10个大姓，以梁姓为最多，约占50%。[2] 1949年为新兴县第一区的桥亭村。1994年设新城镇桥亭管理区；1999年4月改为桥亭村民委员会；2002年4月改称桥亭社区居民委员会。2019年9月，社区入选2018年度「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1][2]
