历史沿革[edit]

解放初为新兴县一区附城镇的水东岸村；1951年归城关镇；1958年编入红旗公社城关镇，叫水东生产大队；1959年改称水东大队；1964年划归环城人民公社。1988年设环城镇水东管理区，1994年改隶新城镇；1999年改为水东村委会；2002年4月起定名水东社区居民委员会，由新城镇人民政府管辖。[1][2]
