历史沿革[edit]

1949年为新兴县第一区附城镇的茅园村；1951年归城关镇，仍叫茅园村；1958年成为红旗公社的茅园大队；1959年改归城关镇；1964年归环城公社。1983年设环城区公所下的茅园乡；1999年改为新城镇茅园社区居民委员会，延续至今。[1]
