锦水社区位于镇中心区，是新城镇辖下的社区。溪流自县城西南的白鳝坑流出，先绕西门入城，再出城北，灌溉桥亭洞一带，因水色明净似锦而得名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1949年隶属新兴县第一区附城镇，叫锦水村；1951年归城关镇；1958年划入红旗公社；1959年改归城关镇，叫锦水大队。1987年设为新城镇锦水社区居民委员会，此后沿用未变。[1]
2019年9月，社区列入2018年度「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
