高潭村位于石城镇境内，是镇下辖的一个行政村。[1] 村名由1958年设乡时两个片区合并、各取一字得来，1999年4月改称村民委员会，此名沿用至今。[1]

名称由来[edit]

据博雅地名网，1958年设立乡时由两个片区合并，各取一字为名，「榃」与「潭」同义，故称高潭。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年4月与邻村合并设高潭乡，同年10月又并入一个更大的乡，此后分成两个大队。1983年撤社改区，改设高潭乡人民政府。[1]

1986年改为高潭村民委员会，1992年设高潭管理区，1999年4月改称村民委员会，此名沿用至今。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，高潭村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]

2020年12月，广东省爱卫会授予高潭村「2020年广东省卫生村」荣誉称号；2021年12月，又授予「2021年广东省卫生村」荣誉称号。[1]

2023年5月，广东省爱卫会授予其下辖的潭坡村、甫竹下村「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
