村名与镇名同源，来自明嘉靖年间德庆圳下八都的第六都。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年此地称六都大队，1983年改设六都乡；1986年实行镇乡辖村体制，改称六都村民委员会，1989年设为六都管理区，1999年复称六都村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]

2022年6月，六都村被命名为第三批云浮市「民主法治示范村（社区）」；百度百科另载，2021年9月拟确认为「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1][2]

2026年1月，六都村获评「广东省第二批百千万工程典型村」称号。[1]
