红营村是安塘街道的一个行政村，位于街道西南面，距街道办事处约12公里，村域内有7条自然村。[3]
村名的来历：旧时曾有匪徒在此安营，一带被叫作“英雄营地”，略称“雄营”。解放后平定匪患，改称红营。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
明嘉靖年间（1522年至1566年），陈姓始祖陈子乐先在岗磅一带搭寮居住，此后迁入下山脚安家。清康熙至乾隆年间，刘、毛、程、欧、叶、李等姓陆续迁入。[2]
1952年3月设红营乡，隶安塘乡；1954年3月组建红营高级农业生产合作社。1958年8月划属腰古乡，同年10月设红营生产大队，归激流人民公社；1961年起改隶夏洞人民公社。[2]
1983年改称红营乡，由安塘区公所统管；1986年成为红营村委会，隶安塘镇；1989年改为管理区，仍隶安塘镇。1994年纳入安塘街道，1999年再定名红营村委会，至今仍隶安塘街道。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，红营村名列2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。2020年8月，红营村的茶叶产业入选广东省农业农村厅公布的首批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单。[1]
2021年8月，红营村获评2020年「广东省森林乡村」。[3]
2021年12月，广东省爱卫会授予红营村2021年「广东省卫生村」称号；2024年3月，村获认定为2023年「广东省卫生村」。[1]
