八和村是河口街道下辖的行政村，属村庄类。村名的由来是这个村委会由八个自然村组成，“八和”寓意八个自然村和睦相处。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年8月此地在都骑乡之内；同年10月划入太阳升人民公社，1961年又归河口人民公社。1983年它成为八和乡，置于河元区公所辖下；1986年改为八和村委会，属河口镇；1989年改作八和管理区，仍在河口镇。[2]

1994年以后划入河口街道，1999年定名为八和村村民委员会，至今仍隶属河口街道。[2]

2019年9月，八和村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
