初城村是河口街道下辖的行政村，属城乡结合区，位于街道东面，距街道办事处约3公里。村内下辖五条自然村。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年，初城村属第九区、峰市区。[2]

1952年3月此处设初城乡；1954年3月办起初城高级农业生产合作社。1958年8月初城仍属初城乡，同年10月分出初城生产大队，改归河口人民公社。[1]

1983年这里再称初城乡，归河元区公所；1986年变为初城村委会，并入河口镇；1989年为初城管理区，仍在河口镇。1994年转入河口街道，1999年又成村委会，至今隶属河口街道。[1]

2020年12月，广东省爱卫会授予初城村「2020年广东省卫生村」荣誉称号。[1]

经济[edit]

村内建有初城民营科技园，据博雅地名网所载，是全市第一个省级民营科技园。[3]
