牧羊村位于云城街道辖区内，村委会名称取自驻地一个村名的前两个字。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1952年设牧羊乡，归附城乡管辖，1954年组建牧羊高级农业生产合作社。1958年10月这里成为牧羊生产大队，归附城人民公社。1983年恢复为牧羊乡，1986年改称村委会，1989年称牧羊管理区，1994年纳入云城街道，1999年定名牧羊村民委员会。[1]
2020年12月，广东省爱卫会授予牧羊村「2020年广东省卫生村」荣誉称号。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
田螺岩位于牧羊村委龙盘围村内，是古东安八景之一。岩洞外形如田螺，洞内钟乳石、石笋与流石密布，岩顶孔洞透下月光，古景称「碧虚夜月」。洞口石壁上留有「碧虚古岩」石刻。[2]
