平洋村曾名彭洋，位于南阳山区西南部，靠近普宁最高峰峨嵋嶂的山脚[1][2]。下辖三派坡、梅兰、宫角等7个自然村[2]。

历史沿革[edit]

1953年本村属大坪十三区第七村。1958年鲘溪林场设立，这里称为工区，1984年改为管区，1990年随鲘溪设乡改称管理区，1999年改为平洋村委会[1]。2019年9月，本村上榜「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单[1]。

经济[edit]

村中盛产青梅、青榄等水果，建有青梅加工厂2家[2]，另有腌制厂2家、木材加工厂1家[1]。

文化[edit]

村中有七圣娘娘宫，别称娘妈宫。每逢农历七月廿三，外出的乡亲大多回来团聚[1]。原乡农会成立大会广场遗址即娘妈宫，今称宫角七圣宫[2][3]。
