溪南村是梅塘镇下辖的行政村，镇北部临榕江南岸，全村由30个自然村组成。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村落始建于元末明初，因建于榕江南岸而得名溪南。[1]

新中国成立初，此地设溪南乡。1958年划入里湖的红旗公社，改为溪南大队。1960年由该公社分出，另组溪南公社；1962年溪南公社并入梅塘公社，溪南改为独立大队。1984年设溪南乡，1986年设村委会，1990年设管理区，1999年改为村委会。[2]

文化[edit]

村落以周氏宗祠追远堂为中心，形成同姓聚居的古村落，俗有「浮水莲花」之称。村内有木雕木刻工艺，并有塑料制品厂和竹草加工等工业。[1]

溪南村于2013年8月入选第二批「中国传统村落」名录。2020年8月，溪南村被列入首批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单（空心菜）。[2]

2020年9月、2021年10月和2022年10月，溪南村先后列入「淘宝村」名单。[2]
