远光村是广东省揭阳市普宁市梅塘镇下辖的行政村，位于镇的中部，城乡分类属镇乡结合区。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
新中国成立前，此地称梅塘。新中国成立初，与邻近两村合设梅塘乡。1958年称梅塘大队，1960年分开自成一队，并以原有的农业社为名，称远光大队。1984年设远光乡，1986年设村委会，1990年设管理区，1999年改为村委会。[1]
经济[edit]
村内经济作物有青榄等。[1]
文化[edit]
2019年9月，远光村被列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。2020年9月、2021年10月和2022年10月，远光村先后列入「淘宝村」名单。[1]
