桥光村位于梅塘镇北部，地处榕江平原，村中有桥头、斑湖、大安围三个自然寨。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
明末，郑、庄二姓先后在此建村。新中国成立初属梅塘乡，1958年属梅塘大队，1962年自成大队，因驻地在桥头而得名。1984年与邻村同属新光乡，1986年自新光乡中析出，成为独立的村委会；之后于1990年设管理区，1999年改为村委会建制。[1][2]
经济[edit]
农业是经济的根基，种植的主要作物有水稻、甘薯和花生。村中另有塑料加工、家具、罐头等厂。2022年10月，桥光村被列入「淘宝村」名单。[1][2]
文化[edit]
村属潮汕革命老区。[1]
