圆潭村在镇西南的山地一带，离镇区较远，经水泥化村道与安池公路相接。[1]
村名的来历：据百度百科，村中溪水里原有一处深潭，名为「黄潭」，后音近而改称圆潭。[2]
村内由3个自然村组成。村民种植青榄、青梅、杨桃和水稻，并从事凉果加工，年轻力壮的村民多数外出务工或做生意。[1][2]
1996年时村属石牌镇，石牌镇于2003年并入里湖镇，村随之归属里湖镇。[2]
2019年9月，圆潭村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。[1]
