大廖村由大凹、凹下、塘肚、廖丰田四个自然村组成，地处癞痢石凸山东麓，山地广阔，盛产青梅、乌榄和橄榄。据博雅地名网所载，大部分村民已移居或暂住梅林镇区。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1973年成立大廖大队，1986年改设大廖村委会，1990年改设管理区，1999年改称村委会。2003年南阳乡撤销，村并入梅林镇管辖。[1][2]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月公布的名单显示，大廖村属于2018年「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1]
