大岭下村旧称解岭村，清顺治年间已有村落。村子由大岭下、石头排、麻竹园、礼和洋等六个自然村组成，山林出产橄榄、青梅、茶叶和毛竹，村内产南岭单丛茶，是潮汕地区毛竹的产地之一。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1974年，村称大岭下大队；1984年改称大岭下乡。2003年南阳乡撤销，村并入梅林镇管辖。[1]
