华寮村起初称下寮。清雍正年间（1723~1735年），郑氏一支自五华来此传授拳术，并在溪流下游搭寮居住，村名因此称下寮，后改称华寮。现今全村皆为郑姓。村子依山傍水，由新寨、老寨、学老坑、楼下、塘背坑五个自然村组成。[1]
经济[edit]
华寮村是梅林镇的粮食主产村，水果以鸟梨著称，果脯远销港澳和东南亚一带。每年有大量松木和燃料对外出售。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
新中国成立初期，村属三峰乡。1952年设华寮乡，1957年划入梅林大乡，1959年隶属三联大队。1966年改称华寮大队；1986年改设村委会，1990年设管理区，1999年复为村委会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2020年8月，华寮村在广东省农业农村厅公布的首批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单中，产品为蕉柑。[1]
