涧头村因村子坐落在山涧水边而得名，清雍正之前已有村落。村子呈阶梯状分布，山坡宽阔，盛产油茶，还产鸟梨和橄榄。村中传统尚武，有舞狮班和英歌队。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1963年，村所在地设为涧头大队。1986年改设村委会，1990年改设管理区，1999年又改为村委会。[1]
