吉告村原名橘树下，是船埔镇下辖的行政村，村中有下吉告、上吉告两个自然村，全村920人。[1][2]

村子在普宁市区西面44公里，属高寒山区，处于普宁、揭西、陆河三县交界之处。[2][4]

历史沿革[edit]

清末创村，村后有一棵大橘树，村名由此而来，后称吉告村。1980年时归黄沙公社，称吉告大队；1984年改为吉告乡；1986年称吉告村；1999年成为村委会；2003年黄沙乡撤销，村并入船埔镇。[1][3]

经济[edit]

耕地350亩，山地12014亩。旧时村民多以烧炭为生，村周围炭窑遍布。村中多栽青梅、橄榄，另有柿子、李子、梨，并产单丛茶；粮食以稻谷、甘薯为主。村中有小型水电站五座、变电站一座和小学一所。[2]

文化[edit]

村口有古树，村中有中林庙，近年村民和爱乡人士共建妙音念佛堂。[2]
