河坑村曾名河树坪，是船埔镇下辖的行政村，村中有坑口、望海凸、鲤潭、河树坪、赤竹田、田仔坑等六个自然村。[1]

村子位于普宁市区西面46公里处，与揭西县交界，属革命老区，现居住人口主要集中在河树坪和坑口，约1356人。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清中期，杨氏一支由南阳迁入。1984年隶属黄沙区，设河坑乡；1986年改为村；1999年定为村委会；2003年随黄沙乡撤销并入船埔镇。[1]

经济[edit]

耕地400多亩，山地13000多亩。农作以水稻、甘薯为主，果品有青梅、青李与青榄。水力资源丰富，有小型水电站三座。外出经商务工的村民较多，约占全村一半。[1]

文化[edit]

村中有小学一所。2019年9月，该村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
