新福村是大坪镇下辖的行政村，曾名土地围，位于南阳山区，距普宁市区约50公里，属革命老区。[1][2]

名称与历史[edit]

清光绪年间（公元1875年至1908年），钟姓一支从后溪迁来定居。村子建在小山丘上，周围多是农田，故名土地围。之后从新楼下、富德田两个自然村各取一字，改为今名。[1][2]

1950年3月以前，此地属陆丰县；之后划为普宁县的一部分。1958年，村子并入南阳山公社；1966年由大坪农场分出，成为大坪公社新福大队。1986年大坪设镇后称新福村委会，1999年定名沿用至今。[1]

地理与产业[edit]

村内有耕地1020亩、山地18750亩，主产稻谷、甘薯和花生。山林出产杉木、青梅、橄榄、乌榄、油甘、李子、菠萝和青竹，其中以青梅最多。[1][2]

村内有个体企业1家、小水电站1座、小学1所、合作医疗站1个，有简易公路通往镇区。[1]

村内有「欧公陂窑址」，据博雅地名网大坪镇概况所载。[3]

荣誉[edit]

「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单中有新福村，时间为2019年9月。[1]
