梅坪社区是大坪镇的镇中心区社区，位于普宁市区西南约50.1公里，人口0.24万人。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清乾隆年间（公元1736年至1795年），此地已有多姓聚居，后来设铺经商，形成小圩集。因地势是平坦宽阔的坡地，取名大坪。[1]
1985年，因要管理镇区住户，此处设立本社区；1999年名称为梅坪居委会，2002年改设社区居委会，沿用至今。[1]
地理与风俗[edit]
房舍多为泥石砖砌、三合土筑成的平房，街道呈丁字形分布，里后公路穿过圩区，公路两侧新建楼房20多座。[1]
农历二、五、八日为圩期，集市交易以竹制用品、果木、茶叶、耕牛和服装为主，其中竹箩、粪箕数量最大，故有「竹箩圩」之称。[1]
