新南湖村位于普宁市区东南约8.7千米处。村名取自村南的一座小湖，清康熙年间部分村民另在此地建村，遂称新南湖。[1]
建村与村名[edit]
明万历年间，许姓一支从福建莆田迁来，在村南有小湖的地方建村。清康熙年间，一部分村民另立新村，即今天的新南湖。[1]
沿革[edit]
1999年起，村子改称新南湖村委会，隶属下架山镇。[2]
经济[edit]
村中以稻谷、甘薯和花生为主要作物，家庭手工业较为发达。[1]
