百吉岭村位于普宁市区东南约10千米处，明万历年间由马姓一支迁入建村。1962年因修建汤坑水库，全村迁居新址，因此又叫百吉岭新村。[1][3]

建村与村名[edit]

一支马姓人家自丰顺来此落户，时在明万历二十年（1592年）。村子附近有一条翻越山岭通往惠来的险峻山径，据传经常有人在此拦路劫掠，故称百劫岭。“劫”与“吉”同音，后改取吉祥的意思，成为今名。[1]

沿革[edit]

1957年，村子从潮阳县划归普宁县。1962年全村迁入水库建成后另设的新址。1999年1月，经普宁市人民政府文件改称百吉岭村委会，此名沿用至今。[1][2]

革命历史[edit]

村中旧址附近有犁輋坷石洞和鬼空石洞，大革命时期红军47团曾在这一带活动。[1]

经济[edit]

村子以果林为主，山地约一万亩，产甜梨、鸟梨、青榄、柿和油甘等。[1]
