汤坑村位于普宁市区东南约10.8千米处，紧邻普宁境内最大的水库汤坑水库的坝下，村名源于村中的温泉。村南有一座称船桅的古石塔。[1]

村名与地理[edit]

村南的山坑中有温泉，坑宽约12米，水深约1米，一年四季可供沐浴。旧时人们把温泉叫作“汤”，村名由此而来。村庄依山坑而建，占汤公路穿村而过，村南另有一条环村道路。[1]

产业与古迹[edit]

七成左右的劳力在二、三产业就业，行业以化纤、塑料和服装加工为主。村南三公里的山坡上立有一座古石塔，俗称船桅。[1]

沿革[edit]

解放初，村子隶属南亚区汤坑乡；1958年公社化时成立汤坑大队。1980年分出一个大队，1984年两者重新合并，设为下架山区汤坑乡。1986年改为镇属的汤坑村委会，1990年设汤坑管理区，1999年1月起定名为汤坑村委会。[2]
