下架山镇位于广东省揭阳市普宁市东南部，东邻汕头市潮南区，南接惠来县。镇名来自驻地：驻地所在的小丘比三千米外的笔架山低矮，故称下架山。镇域为革命老区，1986年由区改设为镇，此前曾多次分设、合并。镇内保存下来的遗存中，碗仔古村和盐岭径上的红军石刻标语最为人所知。[1][3][4]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期，今镇域分属普宁县的第五区和第三区。解放初，先后划入普宁县南五区、横溪区、占陇区和第六区。[1][3]

1957年前后，镇域村庄分属南湖乡与南城乡，之后归军埠乡管辖；1958年并入占陇公社。1961年从占陇公社分出，设下架山公社，1963年又并入军埠公社。1973年6月复置下架山公社，此后1983年起改设为区，1986年才成为镇。[1][3]

1994年5月，镇政府迁址办公，地点在新南湖一带。[3]

地理环境[edit]

镇域位于普宁市东南部，属亚热带季风气候。镇所在处在普宁市区流沙的东南约9.3千米，驻地海拔19米。[2][3]

人口[edit]

2023年末，全镇户籍人口113509人，共24668户。[5]

农业以水稻、甘薯和水果为主。工业以服装、化塑和药品为主。[1]

2020年9月、2021年10月和2022年10月，下架山镇先后被阿里研究院公布的「淘宝镇」名单列入。[1]

文化与名胜[edit]

英歌舞活动在镇内各村都有开展。[1]

碗仔古村位于碗仔村，村中石屋、进村石阶和古石板桥保存完好。[4]

盐岭径上留有土地革命时期的红军石刻标语，计10条，列为省级文物保护单位。[4][1]

汤坑古文化遗址距今已有3千多年。[1]
