林厝寮村位于占陇镇西北部、练江北岸的小北山地带，地势偏远，以农业为主。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1957年，本村编入北和乡。1958年随公社化，本地编为林光大队；1959至1962年，仍用这一大队名。1963年至1982年，林厝寮自为占陇公社的一个大队；1983年至1985年并入一个乡，1986年成为占陇镇林厝寮管理区，1999年改称林厝寮村委会。[1]

2023年12月，林厝寮村被认定为「揭阳市2023年市级森林乡村」。2019年9月，本村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
