绵远村位于广太镇东南部，与揭阳市榕城区仙桥街道接壤。村民经济靠农业种植和外出劳务，村内有广东省文物保护单位虎头埔古窑址。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

建国初期，绵远村隶属普宁第一区和第八区，1953年属第八区，1957年属广太乡，1958年归南溪公社。1974年属广太公社，1984年属广太区，1986年设绵远村委会，1990年称绵远管理区，1999年再改为绵远村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2017年，村庄被评为广东省「民主法治村（社区）」。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

虎头埔古窑址位于本村虎头埔南坡，1982年6月被发现，同年10月首次发掘，清理陶窑15座。2003年再次发掘，累计清理古窑18座，遗址距今约4000年。该址2010年6月公布为第六批广东省文物保护单位。[3][4]
