广太镇位于广东省普宁市东北部，距普宁市区流沙约21.3千米。镇名取自镇政府所在的广太圩，该圩于清同治二年（1863年）创办。[1][2]

境内农业以水稻、水果为主，名胜有广东省文物保护单位虎头埔古窑址和郑大进墓。[1][4][6]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时，境域属黄坑都。民国时期先后隶属普宁县第八区和第一区，1949年10月以后先后归钟堂区、第八区管辖。[1]

广太圩原在山后村一带，称广平圩。据传因一枚铜钱买豉油引起纠纷，圩市迁往太山洋，改名广太圩。1887年（光绪十三年）圩市有过一次扩建。[1]

行政隶属数次变动：1957年为广太乡，随即并入南溪乡，1958年归南溪公社。1961年从南溪公社分出，设广太公社，两年后重新并回南溪；1974年才恢复独立的广太公社。1983年改为区，1986年由区改设为镇。[1]

2022年10月，广太镇列入当年公布的「2022年淘宝镇」名单；2024年3月，镇被命名为「2023年广东省卫生乡镇」。[1]

地理环境[edit]

省道池（尾）樟（林）公路从镇境中部穿过。镇域东面与揭阳市榕城区仙桥街道、潮阳金玉镇接壤，西连洪阳镇，北接南溪镇，南靠麒麟镇。[1][2]

人口[edit]

第七次全国人口普查结果为5.39万人。2020年末户籍人口为66367人，2008年户籍人口则为59524人。[1][2][3]

经济[edit]

农业以水稻和水果为主，镇内建有水果专业市场。工业行业包括竹草工艺、抽纱和食品等。统计口径下，2020年的工业企业共8家，规模以上工业企业3家。[1][2]

名胜古迹[edit]

虎头埔古窑址位于绵远村虎头埔南坡。1982年6月，普宁县文物普查队在此发现大量陶片；同年10月，省、地、县文博部门联合发掘，清理陶窑15座。2003年再次发掘，共清理古窑18座（含首次的15座）。遗址距今约4000年，属新石器时代晚期，被正式命名为「虎头埔文化」。普宁市政府于2005年2月将其列为文物保护单位，省级文物保护单位的公布则在2010年6月，属第六批。[4][5][8]

郑大进墓位于多年埔村东南凤归山北坡山腰，墓主郑大进（1709－1782）为清代官员，官至直隶总督。墓前神道石刻位于山后村洪山园，碑文记有乾隆四十八年（1783年）立石。该墓在1988年由普宁县列为文物保护单位；2015年12月10日，广东省人民政府批准其为省级文物保护单位，编入第八批。[6][7][9]
