郭畔村是广东省揭阳市普宁市南溪镇下辖的行政村，原名竹浦郭，位于普宁市区北面。村中多人以捕蛇、育蛇为业，因此村子有“蛇乡”之称。[1]
村有耕地135亩，主产柑橘。活蛇、蛇药和蛇酒销往东南亚，也进入广州、珠海、深圳等城市。村中有一家不锈钢制品企业。村子通航条件好，大船可直达揭阳与汕头。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1450年前后，郭姓族人迁来建村，最初称竹浦郭。博雅地名网两处所载，迁出地不同：一处说来自揭阳直浦竹桥乡，另一处说来自潮阳金灶竹桥乡。[1]
后来村中逐渐有多个姓氏聚居，遂改名郭畔。[1]
1966年村子归南溪公社竹浦大队管理。1999年设郭畔村委会，名称沿用至今。[1]

村民多以捕蛇、育蛇为业，足迹远至福建、广西、江西等地。[1]
