新方村是广东省揭阳市普宁市南溪镇下辖的行政村，全村皆姓方，村民多擅长建筑，多数人从事建筑工作。[1][2]

村有耕地420亩，主要种植柑橘。村子有乡村公路连接镇内主要公路，水运便利，木船可直达揭阳和汕头。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明代，福建莆田一带的移民迁来定居，起初此地称南溪方，后另立一村，以“新”字与旧村相区别，遂称新方村。[1]

1963年实行生产大队制，五村合并为南溪大队；1984年改设南溪管区；1993年称新方村委会，1999年再次定名新方村委会，沿用至今。[1]

文化[edit]

村中有小学1所，老人室1处。村子在2019年9月上榜「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
