钟堂村是广东省揭阳市普宁市南溪镇下辖的行政村，村子南北两侧为丘陵，中部为平川。村中有杨石魂故居，即武略第，为普宁市文物保护单位。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

明代永乐年间，杨、郑两姓居民从福建迁来定居。据载，此地在一幅旧地图上标作钟堂，村子因而沿用这一名称。[1]

1949年至1950年间，钟堂区政府就设在村中。1958年，村子编入南溪公社，成为钟堂大队。此后改设乡（1983年称钟堂乡），再经村委会、管理区的变化，1999年复称钟堂村委会。[1]

1938年至1944年间，共产党地下组织在村中领导革命活动。村子属革命老区，村东北角的仁厚里为杨石魂故居。[2]

经济[edit]

村子南北为丘陵，中间是平川，有耕地1890亩。村中主产柑橘、荔枝、橄榄等水果，并有服装、玩具、木材、水果加工等企业，以及生猪、三鸟和淡水鱼养殖。[1][2]

文化[edit]

村中设有一所市办完全中学，名为洪冶中学，其前身是洪冶小学。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

武略第又称杨石魂故居，地处仁厚里（钟堂桥头）。它采用“四点金”格局，属潮汕传统院落式民居，为杨石魂的祖父在清光绪年间建造。建筑面积1205平方米，墙体用三合土夯成，屋顶为瓦木结构。[3]

2008年6月，普宁市人民政府将武略第公布为文物保护单位。同年，揭阳、普宁两地的党政机关各自把这里定为爱国主义教育基地。[3][4]

著名人物[edit]

杨石魂（1902年—1929年），原名秉强，1902年农历八月初十生于钟堂村一个中医师家庭。1919年五四运动期间任揭阳县学生会会长；1925年3月入党，同月中共汕头特别支部成立，他任第一任支部书记。1929年2月，党中央派他去武汉，任务是重建湖北省委。当年5月，省委机关被破坏，他被捕，在狱中牺牲，年仅27岁。[4]
