扬美村是广东省揭阳市普宁市南溪镇下辖的行政村，位于普宁市区以北。村子先前叫作桂扬，俗称洋尾，也叫洋尾刘。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
新中国成立初，扬美一带隶属普宁钟堂区。1956年改归浮山区。1958年并入南溪公社时，本村的生产队名为扬胡大队。1979年，原先的四个自然村各自成为一个大队，队名写作杨美。[1]
1984年公社体制改为区乡，此地设扬美乡。1987年才成立村委会，归南溪镇管辖。1990年又改为管理区，到1999年复称村委会，直到现在仍沿用这一名称。[1]
经济[edit]
村中办有一座砖厂，另有加工类个体户4家、商贸类个体户60家，养殖业户18家，据博雅地名网所载。[1]
文化[edit]
扬美华侨学校位于村子中央。1944年至1946年间，村里的振新小学成为共产党地下组织秘密开展活动的处所，村子如今属于革命老区。[2]
