水吼村属洪阳镇，村北的洪山山顶有华严寺，村内有清光绪年间的方勋纪遊石刻。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

此前曾称水吼乡；1958年公社化时为水吼大队；1984年又设水吼乡，归洪阳区；1987年成立水吼村委会，划入洪阳镇；1991年转为水吼管理区；1999年恢复村委会建制，沿用至今。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

方勋纪遊石刻位于水吼村，刻于清光绪年间。博雅地名网列为县级文物保护单位；普宁市人民政府2023年的文物名录则把它归入揭阳市级的文保单位。[1][2]

华严寺也在村北的洪山山顶，见洪阳镇条目。[1]
