湖美村在大坝镇西部，与揭阳县棉湖镇比邻。[1]

村民以粮食和蔬菜种植为主。2022年，村中引进了几家现代农业企业，并以“个人私家菜园”的租赁方式推进农产品的产销衔接。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

公社化时，本村被改设为湖美大队；1968年从原队分出，自成一队。1984年改属大坝区，设湖美乡；1986年改属大坝镇，设湖美村民委员会；1990年改设管理区；1999年再改为村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，湖美村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。2022年10月，省农业农村厅确认湖美村为「2022年广东省一村一品一镇一业专业村」，专业方向是油甘。2024年3月，该村被命名为「2023年广东省卫生村」。[1]
