大员村是燎原街道的行政村，以丘陵山地为主，东临泥沟白坑湖。[2]村地交通不便，村民出入需经大坝镇或泥沟村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1974年以前村属大坝公社，其后划入燎原公社。1984年设大员乡，1986年改称大员村委会；1990年又设大员管理区，1999年再次改为村委会，名称至今未变。[3]
