流沙西街道位于广东省揭阳市普宁市中部，北面接流沙北街道，南面接流沙南街道，西邻池尾街道，东面与占陇镇相连。街道由原流沙镇的西部地域设立，于2000年12月形成，辖区面积10.46平方千米。[1][2]

街道在普宁市中部，324国道以及236、238省道在辖区内过境，交通条件便利。[2]

2017年末的统计中，街道农村户籍有3.55万人，户籍总数为10.15万人。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

流沙圩市的设立可追溯到1712年，即清朝康熙年间。[1] 普宁县的治所在1952年由洪阳移至流沙镇；1986年12月，流沙区被撤销，其地域归入流沙镇。[2] 2000年12月3日，流沙镇经省政府批准撤销，西部地域另设流沙西街道，街道名称由此而来。[1][3][5]

文化[edit]

2018年5月，街道列入「2018—2020年度广东省民间文化艺术之乡」名单，所报项目为普宁英歌舞。[5]

2019年，文化和旅游部将「2018—2020年度中国民间文化艺术之乡」授予本街道。[1]

2021年，本街道凭借英歌舞获评「2021—2023年度中国民间文化艺术之乡」。[5][6]

普宁英歌在2006年进入国务院公布的第一批国家级非遗名单，街道南山村的南山英歌是其中一支有代表性的队伍。[6]

名胜古迹[edit]

  • 赤水陈氏祖祠：赤水村内的清代古建筑，为普宁市市县级文物保护单位。[4]
  • 陈凤瑞墓：赤水村内的清康熙年间古墓葬，列入第五批市县级文物保护单位。[4]
  • 革命烈士纪念碑（赤水）：位于赤水村，建于1958年，1988年10月20日由普宁县人民政府公布为文物保护单位。[4]
  • 敬爱学校旧址：位于赵厝寮村，建于1937年，列入第四批市县级文物保护单位。[4]
