光草洋村是流沙南街道下辖的行政村，位于普宁市区东南侧。[1][2]

地名与沿革[edit]

清乾隆二十五年（1760年），黄氏的一支从揭阳迁来开垦建村。当时这里仍是荒野，杂草丛生，因“荒”与“方”音近，村名先叫方草洋；解放后改称光草洋。[1][2]

1980年设光草洋大队，1999年改为村委会建制，此名沿用至今。2000年流沙镇撤镇设立街道时，村子划归流沙南街道管辖。[1][2]

人口与经济[edit]

全村分为六个园片，共493户，设7个村民小组。农业人口为2010人，另有非农业人口630人。[2]

村内经济以商贸服务为主，有超市、医药商店等；立新路与环城南路横穿村境。[1][2]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，光草洋村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[2]

2020年9月，光草洋村入选「2020年淘宝村」名单；2021年10月入选「2021年淘宝村」；2022年10月再入选「2022年淘宝村」。[2]
