玉环社区位于普宁市区中心，东边以文竹路北段为界，西边接新河东路。社区有8个居民小组，户数约1500多户，人口约6200多人（博雅地名网）。[1]
辖区交通便利，商业活跃。社区内有中华新城住宅区，并有影院、书店、医院、学校、商场以及多家银行和酒店。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
社区原属普宁市流沙镇城北居委会。2000年流沙镇撤销、流沙东街道设立时，社区由城北居委会划出，成为玉环居委会；2002年居委会改为社区，沿用至今。[1]
社区的名称取自地势环绕成圈的形状，「玉环」有圆满美好的寓意。[1]
文化[edit]
2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位，社区于2019年9月列入名单。[1]
