葵潭农场是广东省揭阳市惠来县下辖的国营农场，位于县境西南部，地处鳌江北岸的低丘陵地带。农场辖1个社区和2个行政村，即场部社区、南湖村和湖美村。[1][2][4]

历史沿革[edit]

农场的前身包括葵峰农场和惠民垦殖场。1950年，潮汕专员公署接管了这片农场；同年6月，农场内开办粤东行署潮汕农林干部学校。[1][3][4]

干部学校在1952年下半年迁往潮安，农场随即更名为粤东区第一示范农场。[5]

1954年，惠来县先前接管的惠民垦殖公司并入农场。[5]

1955年改名为国营葵潭机械化农场，隶属广东省农业厅；次年转归华南垦殖局。[5]

1958年，陆丰县的一部分土地和员工划出，另建铜锣湖农场。到1959年，鳌江公社的46个自然村合并组成红江人民公社。[5]

1962年场社分开，土地另行划分，农场只留下南湖、湖美两个村，归汕头农垦局管辖。[5]

此后，农场先后隶属粤东农垦局（1985年）和揭阳农垦局（1992年），1994年更名为广东省葵潭农场。[1][5]

1987年，农场被定为副处级单位，隶属广东省揭阳农垦局。[4]

地名由来[edit]

农场由几处农场合并而成，其中以葵峰农场为主；葵峰农场的创办人是葵潭人翁照垣将军，场名由此而来。[3][4]

地理环境[edit]

农场位于惠来县西南部三清山系南段的低丘陵地区，鳌江北岸，地势北高南低，大部分土地海拔在45米以下。[4]

年平均气温21.8℃，年平均降雨量1940毫米，降雨多集中在4至9月。[4]

人口与产业[edit]

百度百科记截至2019年末农场户籍人口为6271人。博雅地名网记总人口为5150人，另在别处记为约5420人和约3600人，均未注年份。[1][3][4]

农场分一级核算、两级管理的体制，下设四个国有专业管区。现有土地30816亩，其中水果种植面积10000亩，农场以水果为主要产业。[4]

在潮汕地区，该场最先使用拖拉机耕作。[5]
